Right Alarm — Right Location

Know the type of alarm your home needs, and follow installation guidelines.

Smoke alarms shall be placed in every bedroom, hallway, level of home and living space.

Install a smoke alarm on the ceiling or wall.

Exception: do not install smoke alarms on the ceiling of a mobile home (not insulted). Always install on the wall of a mobile home.

If the alarm is over 10 years from manufacture date, replace the alarm.

Does your home need a Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm? CO is a colorless, odorless gas. CO alarms should be installed on every level of the home according to manufacture. Common sources of CO:
