Our mission is to provide high-quality, courteous and professional services, utilizing an all-hazards approach to saving lives and protecting property.
The Cayce Fire Department is a full-time, career fire service agency proudly serving the City of Cayce. Staffed by 24 sworn, full-time professionals, the department operates around the clock—24 hours a day, 365 days a year—from a single, centrally located fire station to ensure rapid and reliable emergency response.
Established in 1936 as a volunteer organization, the department has evolved over the decades into a modern, fully staffed career fire service. In the early 1980s, the fire department was consolidated with the police department to form the Cayce Department of Public Safety, an innovative model that provided cross-training in both fire suppression and law enforcement duties.
On January 1, 2022, the City of Cayce transitioned back to a traditional structure, reestablishing separate fire and police departments under the leadership of their respective chiefs. Today, the Cayce Fire Department remains committed to protecting life and property through professional emergency response, fire prevention, and community engagement.
